Fabulous Fall-
Preschool day 10- The theme was all about birds today and the kids loved it, but first we started out with our show-n-tell. Ryan brought a RED apple peeler, Christopher brought his YELLOW dinosaur, Eisley brought her Ariel with her RED hair and Mi Na brought a wand and a RED and YELLOW book. The kids were each asked to bring something red or yellow to show. They all took a turn sharing with us their item and why they chose to bring it. Ryan wanted to go last and when I asked if we should try the apple peeler out during snack he said we better not because he wasn't sure his mom would want us to. :)
For math we placed the matching size circle with it's match.
Later we went bird watching and I was sure we would see tons of birds but on this particular day they were hard to see. We did hear them often and finally saw a couple. After our walk we tried out some of the different ways birds walk. We pretended to be an owl by turning our heads and flapping our wings and a flamingo by standing on one foot. We strutted like a rooster, ran like an ostrich and hopped like a sparrow. My favorite was watching them act out a penguin. While the other kids waddled, Eisley got on her belly and pretended to slide down some ice.
Painting with feathers:
Making red birds and flying them around the room.
Day 11: Fall leaves. For math we counted and added and subtracted leaves from the tree. They all counted so well.
We cut out leaf shaped bread and ham for snack time.
Then the kids glued leaves to their fall wreaths.
Lastly we went on a leaf hunt and collected as many different leaves we could find.
Day 12: Seeds
Before starting on seeds we finished up our lesson on leaves. The kids made leaf rubbings with the leaves we collected the day before. All the kids did an amazing job but I have to say Mi Na had the right touch for this project.
They had fun playing and handling the seeds and then gluing them on paper to make a mosaic.

Their absolute favorite part of today was playing the game, seed, seed, sunflower aka duck duck goose. They all took turns being the farmer many times and played the game over and over again.
It was such a great week with these cute preschoolers!

First Week of School
I couldn't have asked for a better first week of school. The kids were so great and excited every day and it was so much fun doing the different activities with them.
Day 1
Day 1
Christopher was so excited for school to start and was waiting outside for his friends to come.
We started off by learning the morning routine: The Learning Box, Calendar and Weather. They caught on to the songs quickly.
Then we went on a hunt through the house for the color red. They were very good at finding the things I had placed all around and had fun singing about them later.
Talked about our names, tried to recognize which one was theirs and write/trace them. There was some funny talk about determining how girls felt about boys (and vice versa) by the way they were coloring them on the picture. Thank you Ryan! It made me laugh.
We read a fun book all about our Eyes, Nose Mouth and Toes and more! We all had lots of fun doing all the actions of the book. We read this book every day.
Some fun letter and face cookies in the shape of a circle. I love Eisley's face.
We had some fun balloon play, trying to hit the balloons with our elbows, heads, feet, etc.
On Thursday we learned about circles!! They had fun doing actions in, on, near, around, far from the circle.
For snack we had a variety. We sorted out what was circles, and what wasn't. We also discovered that all the circle snacks were in blue bowls and the non circles were in red bowls!
Hooray for circles! And hooray for an awesome first week of school!
